Fortes Solutions supports SANS EduCare Centre in Cape town

Fortes Solutions has donated money to the SANS EduCare Centre in Cape town. With the donation they are able to build a new crèche for children from 0-6 years old. This initiative is part of cooperation with on of our partners.

Imagine looking after 180 children on a daily basis in a shack that is way too small. In the summer the temperature reaches figures well above 30 degrees and in the winter it freezes and it is wet. Still, you have to be there every day for the children, because that is all they haven.

That is what Sandra Lucas does, day after day. Sandra is a retired teacher and Director of SANS EduCare in Mfuleni. Together with 9 others she provides care, a structured curriculum and meals for the children. The children learn Xhosa, Afrikaans and English and lay the foundation for further education.

Ruin
Their accommodation was a ruin and there were hardly any toys, teaching materials and mattresses. Our contribution has made the construction of the new crèche possible. Construction has already started and it seems that they will meet all the requirements to receive additional funding from the government. With the additional funding they are able to take care of themselves.
