Pon Automotive has selected the Principal Toolbox for further professionalisation of the projects and the project portfolio. This gives Pon a transparent overview of the entire project portfolio.
Pon, one of the largest family-run businesses in the Netherlands, is an international trading and service company, engaged in a wide range of activ ities. Pon employs almost 11,000 people at over 250 branches across 12 countries. Most people know Pon as a car dealer. Ben Pon was a Duch importer of cars that managed to sell Volkswagens, just after WOII, in the Netherlands. Pon still sells products of A-manufacturers, including Volkswagen, Caterpillar, MAN and Continental. Pon also offers services such as maintenance, repair, leasing, rental and insurance.
Pon Automotive will be using the Principal Toolbox for Portfolio Management. This enables them to capture, prioritize, categorize and select initiatives. It also gives Pon a clear overview of all ongoing projects and initiatives within the portfolio with possible bottlenecks.
Pon will also be using their own methodology (based on the Stage Gate model) and all the project managers will be managing their projects in the Principal Toolbox. An interface with the financial system is planned for Q1 of 2011.
The Principal Toolbox is for Pon Automotive a complete solutions for Project Portfolio Management (PPM). The Principal Toolbox will give Pon more transparency, makes capturing the planning and forecast much easier and reporting will be able with ‘just one press of a button’.
