Principal Toolbox release 4.2

 

With release 4.2 of the Principal Toolbox it has become even easier to manage projects and to have control over your portfolios and resources.

Baseline support

With the new release the Principal Toolbox support the visualisation of baselines in a project. A project plan can be saved as a baseline. you are able to choose for an initial baseline or a current baseline.

You are able to select which baseline planning is displayed in the Gantt chart. This way it is very easy to see how the current plan deviates from the original plan.

History tracking on log items and portfolio items

The Principal Toolbox is now able to keep track of all changes on portfolio items and log items. The history tab gives an overview of all the changes made by each person on each item.

The logs also have been upgraded with the addition of discussion messages. Every user is able to add text messages on an item about to start a discussion.

 

E-mail notification on time sheets, requests, etc.


The Principal Toolbox is now able to automatically send e-mail notifications. This enables users for example to notify project managers to fill in their resource requests. In the system settings you are able to select which notifications will be sent.
 
New add-on: Resource Allocation & Resource Capacity Planning

The add-ons Resource Allocation & Resource Capacity Planning do not replace the add-on 'Resource Planning', but are specifically meant to simplify the planning of large numbers of resources.

With these add-ons organisations are able to support the request of resources (skills or induviduals) in a simple way.

By using these add-ons organisations are able to get a clear view of the availability and request (availability department, skills or individuals) from different projects.

 

Person reporting


With the new release it is also possible to create reports based on people (users or resources) within the Principal Toolbox. All data and custom fields on a person can be requested and used in an automatic report in Excel or Word.

 

Timeline reports


The report section on each project has been modified. The existing reports are regrouped and timeline reports have been added. There are several standard timeline reports available which give information such as hours over time (for example a month). This wasn’t possible in the previous version of the Principal Toolbox.

Timeline reports appear on both projects and time registration. The data will be shown in a table which can be also be used in automated reports.

The Principal Toolbox is also able to show the data in graphs. This gives the user a direct and clear overview of all the requested and allocated resources.
